FCCFA Master Plan
FCCFA Master Plan
Planning the Future of the FCCFA Campus
The FCCFA is developing a master plan to guide the future of its downtown Columbus campus. The plan will look ahead five to 15 years and help inform decisions about the Greater Columbus Convention Center, Hilton Columbus Downtown, Nationwide Arena, parking facilities and FCCFA-owned property available for future development.
As Columbus grows, we want these public assets to continue serving residents, visitors and the regional economy. The planning process will examine how the facilities work together today and explore opportunities to make the campus more welcoming, connected and responsive to future needs.
What will the plan explore?
- Convention center improvements and potential expansion
- Hotel and hospitality needs
- Walkability, accessibility and connections to surrounding districts
- Transportation and mobility
- Guest experience, public spaces and placemaking
- Sustainability, infrastructure and campus operations
- Future uses of FCCFA-owned property
No specific projects or outcomes have been predetermined.
Recommendations will be shaped by research, operational needs, financial feasibility and input from stakeholders and the community.
How will the work happen?
LMN Architects is leading the master planning effort, supported by Columbus-based MKSK and members of AECOM’s Columbus team. The process is expected to take approximately 12 months and will include analysis of the campus and its facilities, as well as engagement with public agencies, industry partners, neighboring districts, community leaders and community members.
The completed plan will provide a flexible roadmap for future decisions. Individual projects would require further evaluation and approval before moving forward.
