Goodale Street Parking Garage Takes Shape
Just a few weeks ago, the site of the new Goodale Street Parking Garage was level ground as construction crews prepared the area for a new 800-car facility. Today, there is a building, which is getting closer to completion every day, and it’s on track to open early next year.
In keeping with the Hilton Columbus Downtown and plans for the Greater Columbus Convention Center, the new garage will be a showplace for local art (see the story in this newsletter about the call for art). It also will include a dramatic sky bridge similar to the glass walkway between the Convention Center and the hotel.
It’s important to note that this new garage is being built at no cost to taxpayers. It will, quite literally, pay for itself from the parking income generated. Watch for more on this project in future newsletters. In the meantime, check out our progress by clicking here.
