Meet Dean Dennis: Leading the Next Chapter at the Convention Center
Legends Global, the operator of the Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC), has welcomed a new leader at a pivotal time for Columbus’ continued growth.
Dean Dennis, a respected industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, started his role in March. From overseeing major renovations to leading high-performing venues across North America, Dean brings a proven track record of operational excellence and strategic leadership.
But what drew him to Columbus wasn’t just the role, it was the city itself.
“The opportunity to lead an organization that plays such a vital role in Columbus’ growth and national visibility really appealed to me,” Dean shared.
In his first weeks, Dean has been energized by what he calls a “premier convention product”, a combination of world-class facilities, strong hospitality partners and a collaborative spirit that sets Columbus apart.
Dean steps into the role at a time of momentum for the GCCC and the broader hospitality community. His early priorities are clear: deliver an exceptional guest experience, empower internal teams and strengthen partnerships across the city.
“First and foremost is ensuring an exceptional experience for every guest,” he said.
He also sees Columbus’ competitive advantage as both practical and powerful. A walkable downtown, a convention center with 1.8 million sq. feet of meeting space and a central location within a one-day drive of half the U.S. population.
Beyond the business, Dean is quickly embracing the city’s culture. From exploring High Street to discovering Columbus’ vibrant culinary scene (with an early favorite at The Guild House), he’s already finding his footing.
When asked to describe Columbus in three words, his answer was simple: Welcoming. Vibrant. Evolving.
